How to Tweet On a Cell Phone
69
If you have signed up on Twitter and have not set up your cell phone to tweet, you might want to take advantage of that. These steps will help you set up Twitter on your phone so you can update your status right from there. You can also receive followers' updates, replies and other Twitter features on your phone once you sync your cell phone to the service.
In order to do that, you want to make sure you can send and receive text messages. From there, login to the Twitter web site and go to Settings. Hit the Devices tab and enter in your cell phone number as it explains it and save the number. Once saved, you will have to text a random code to 40404 which is the Twitter text number for status updates. Only one cell phone can be linked to a Twitter account at a time, so once you set that number, if you want to use another cell phone, you would have to create another Twitter account.
After your cell phone is synced with your Twitter account, you can set up the preferences for how you receive updates to your phone. You can actually set up certain followers that you will receive updates from and others you will not. You can even set it up so that you do not receive updates during certain hours of the day, like when you are sleeping, at work or in classes. Or you can leave updates on all the time and get them throughout the day.
Twitter was meant to be used from the cell phone. It gives you the chance to update what you are doing, respond to followers and keep in touch with friends and more on the go. Without using your cell phone, you are not taking full advantage of Twitter and everything this new and popular social network has to offer.
