What are the benefits of using the Virtual Console?
Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console gives users a chance to check out old school video games. While you can also purchase and download original Wii content in the form of Wii Ware, you can also check out new Wii Channels, too. These give Nintendo Wii gamers ways to make more of their console. The old school video game downloads give gamers the chance to take advantage of long forgotten systems that have gone the way of the dinosaur and may not be readily available to them anymore. You can also check out new Channels which let you take your Wii to new levels, such as utilizing an Internet browser, getting the latest weather updates in your area and reading breaking news.

How to use the Virtual Console
The Virtual Console is easy to use for anyone. Once downloaded, you simply access the Channel and as long as you are connected to the web, you can access its contents. The Virtual Console allows you to either utilize Wii Points or save your credit card details to your Nintendo account. As long as you either are set up, you can make purchases, download them to your Nintendo Wii and began playing games or taking advantage of new Wii Ware titles or Channels. You can get e-mail updates via your Nintendo account as to what new titles are available and when they can be purchased.
Is using the Virtual Console worth it?
The best way to take advantage of the Virtual Console is to download and play old video games. Consoles, such as the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Commodore 64, Atari and even the Sega Genesis, are represented on the Nintendo Virtual Console. New titles are added every week, and many old classics, such as Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and even Galaga can be downloaded to play on the Nintendo Wii. Once downloaded, you have full access to the game and as long as you have the right type of controller unit, you can play to your heart's content.
