For the dark smoky eyes

Put on a pearly base, a creamy shiny base, all over the eyelid. Put it on right up to the brow. Any brand will do. You won’t see much difference. This is just a natural look that will help your other make up to slide on nicely. Find a blend of smoky grays. Put the darkest shade on across the eyelid base area of your eyes with a nice make up brush. Make certain you give it a nice coating. Don’t worry if it looks heavy. You will be blending. Make certain this is bonded with the skin. Now take a dark gray sparkly eye shadow and dip it into the make up and apply it to the liner area of the eye only from the mid point and out. Now take a blending brush and pull the make up that is on the liner area and pull it up and out and into the crease. Continue doing so until you have no harsh lines. You should see light silver on the inner eye area and it should blend nicely to the dark gray area to the outer eye area.

Apply bronzer with a nice big make up brush around the temple area and down the face as though you are making the shape of a 3 in reverse. You do not want to go down the middle of your face. Remain on the sides of the face and in toward the middle but, again, not down the middle. Now take a liner brush and take light silver run it on the inner corner of your eye and on the lower lash liner inner area only of your eye. Now take a black matte eye showdown, an ebony shade and take a slim flat edged brush with wax on it and dip it in the ebony shade and line your upper eye lid to give it a bit of extra depth.

Take a creamy eyeliner pencil and line the waterline area of your lower eyes. Put it on heavier toward the outer corners and blend it in lighter to the inner eyes. If you use liquid liner, it is the same method. Now line a bit below the water line, the section below the water liner. Now put your mascara on. If you are using false lashes, you should only apply a thin coat of mascara.

For the eyebrows

Dip your brush in some eyebrow wax and then into the eyebrow shade you desire. You can shape your eyebrows with this mixture. This is very helpful if you have plucked just a bit more than you planned.

Applying blush

Christian Dior has a creamy blush product that works quite well. Pretend you have a 3-D area on your face. Apply the blush along the eye area line that is right below the soft part of the under eye. Blend this down onto the high section of the cheek bone. Max has a nice product called Well Dressed. Apply it with a brush in a swirling motion to the cheekbone area.

Applying lip color

Apply a primer to the lips to base it out. Now apply a nice nude pink shade over the primer. A nice one is made by Tarte.

For the purple-pink smoky eye look

Follow the same procedure above except after you apply the darkest color on the upper lid apply a dark sky blue shade to the inner three quarter of the eye. Now with some Max Pigment in a pink shade and a large brush apply the eye color to the under brow area and gently pull it down and blend like crazy until you are satisfied with the look. Now take the dark blue sky shade and go back over the eye area to continue blending up as you go until the look you desire is achieved. Now take a shade of purple that you like and apply just a bit of purple to the same area you just blended. You are building the background for your smoky effect. Take your pink opal and go back over it again. Take it out to the corner and smoke it out. Lift the mixture up and out. It will blend it out and smoke it out nicely. If you want a bit of extra highlight take what is on the lid of the eyeshadow and hit the upper area of the eye under the brow and dab, dab, dab. Now take the liner brush and hit the area just above the liner line and dab it on. You want an almost matte black area above the liner area. The other colors will still show through in a subtle way. Follow through with the liner on the lower area waterline as above. Now apply your mascara. Tickle the lashes by shaking your head as you apply the mascara. Keep your head tipped back to avoid catching the skin, thus, avoiding smudges on the skin. Complete the look with the brow applications as above.
