Warning signs to look for

With thousands of websites promising to make you rich overnight it is no wonder why there are so many victims of scam and companies committing scams. Th truth is that if the deal sames to be too good to be true, very likely it is. Luckily, there are several signs that suggest a scam, and most of these signs can be recognized before falling into the trap. Here are some common red flags to look out for before becoming the next victim of a scam:

-Upfront fees

A reliable website generally will require no upfront fees. If you think of it, most websites really do not have a reason to charge you. Some will justify that you are really paying so to show you are serious about the business. This is far from true, some of the best paying work at home jobs require no upfront fees. Very likely once you pay the fee, you will either be given an e-book that explains how to get rich rather than a job or rules, tasks and guidelines on how to work for the business that are difficult to achieve or even impossible.

-No contact information

Once you sign up for an on-line job you realize that there is really no way to contact the company. No address, no phone number only an e-mail address to which they do not respond. My husband once did a pay per click job which took him 3 weeks of constant clicking to reach payout. Once reached payout, there was no way to ask for payment. The e-mails were never returned.

-BBB

DO a search on the Better Business Bureau website to check if they have lots of complaints. This can help you assess if the website is reliable or not. Another good way to find if you are dealing with a scam is doing a search on a business at the Ripoffreport website.

-Lots of promises

If the on-line job offered promises that you can make millions of dollars do not believe it. Honest jobs take time and effort just as in the real world. Very likely these websites ask for a fee to join to reveal the secrets of their program. After having paid, candidates then notice that the company's goals are unattainable by the average person.

-They look for you

Do you get a lot of job opportunities in your junk folder? Then that is what it is, just junk. Reputable companies will not come and spam you in your inbox. Very likely, these are from people that try to make money off of you by trying you to sign up, pay the start up fee and getting a commission should you fall for it.

-Lots of words

You stumble upon a promising work at home job but there are very lengthy pages to read. Save your time and scroll down to the bottom of the page. The bottom line is that the company will try to convince through words and at the bottom of the page after having lost 2 hours reading, there will be a form to fill and a fee to pay.

These are a few common red flags that may suggest a scam. There are of course many other methods to scam honest people looking for a honest job. Always be extra careful and try to avoid those asking for money. You should be the one ultimately making the money not the other way around. Also help others by reporting the scams you incur into by using the ripoffreport website, this will protect others from falling into the same scam.
