How to boost up sales through back end affiliate marketing
58Affiliate marketing moves on with a balanced co-ordination between the
merchant and affiliate. Both merchant and affiliate benefit from the
arrangements of affiliate marketing.Every time the affiliate makes a
sale, the merchant earns profit and the affiliate earns commission. The
merchant is also saved from spending too much in traditional medium of
advertising.
Since both affiliate and merchant
benefit from affiliate programs they should try out new ways. Back end
marketing is a great way to enhance affiliate business from which
everyone can reap benefit. Back end selling refers to the selling that
is done after the first sale. Once a visitor converts into a customer,
he remains in the the customer database. More products could be
promoted and finally sold to this customer on the basis of the first
sale. The second product is called a back end product.
Complimentary
products or products related to the first product, could serve as good
back end product. Since the customer already had a transaction with the
merchant or affiliate, he can trust them further to buy the second
product. If the experience with the first product remains good, the
customer would only be delighted to get the complimentary products from
the same source.
It has been a proven way of
product promotion in the traditional marketing system also. To have an
effective back end marketing, the customer has to be made aware of all
other products available with the seller. If there is a need at the
customer's end, the customer would himself contact the seller. Or else
cleversalesman creates a need with the customer through their sales skill and at the end manage to sell the product.
While
affiliate marketing helps in getting new leads or customers, back
end marketing maintains a database of customers who could be lured
into buying other goods, on the basis of trust.

Excellent advice I would say. Back end sales gives the customer an opportunity too buy another product from someone they already trust, and as trust is one of the hardest things to establish online this helps both buyer and seller know they value each other.
