For firs time moms, buying clothes for their baby can be a tricky thing considering the fact that there are numerous styles of outfits to choose from that shouts out “cute” and “adorable”. But you should not base the clothes through their looks alone. You also have to make sure that your baby will be comfortable wearing them. Here are some tips and advice to serve as a guide when it comes to choosing and buying clothes for your baby:
Take note not to buy too many clothes. Babies grow very quickly and you would be shopping for the next size before you know it. Just make sure that you have enough outfits to get through the week and it is best if you get them in different sizes. Make sure you have play suits, sleeping suits, basic tees coats, hats and comfortable cotton pants. Make sure you get clothing that is right for the season.
It is best to choose clothing that has wide necks or those that have fastenings around the neck area so that the clothes can go over your baby’s neck very easily. For the bottom wear, get something that has fastenings as well so that you do not have to completely undress the baby when you need to change your baby’s diaper.
Get clothes that have snaps or press studs instead of buttons since they are easier to maneuver and your baby can not be able to pull out the buttons and choke on them. If you have buttons on clothes then makes sure that they are sewn well.
As for the material of your baby’s clothes, you have to make sure that the seams are not rough and that the material is comfortable. Natural cotton is the best recommended material for babies.
Make sure that the clothing does not have any loose threads. The fingers and the toes of your baby can easily get caught in them. The same goes for ribbons and strings. They might even be wrapped around the baby’s necks.
Follow this guide and you can be assured that your baby does not only have the cutest clothes but they also enjoy wearing them.
