How to change the PSP background and how to put New wallpaper on your PSP

If you're tired of seeing the same background every time you load up your PSP device, you'll be happy to know that you can change it in seconds. It's very easy to do and you don't need any additional software or other tools. All you need is your new background that you want to change it to. This works with later versions of the PSP firmware which add lots of good functionality to your PSP including the ability to change backgrounds. To get started, download and save your new PSP background on your pc where you can easily find it. Make sure you have a Memory Stick Duo in your PSP preferably formatted by the PSP itself. Here are the steps you need to take to change the background or wallpaper on your PSP device.

1. Connect computer and PSP using USB 2.0

Connect your PSP to your computer using a USB cable and identify the new drive that corresponds to your PSP device. Your computer should normally assign the USB connection a new drive on your PC. This is the drive you need to open on your pc in order to be able to browse the PSP file system.

2. Put your new PSP background onto your PSP

On your computer find the drive corresponding to the PSP and browse to the memory stick X:/PSP/PHOTO directory. Copy and move your new PSP background from your PC to this directory, i.e. the PHOTO directory. On your PSP, go into the photo menu and select the background/wallpaper that you've just placed there. You can quickly find the image by using the photo browser on your PSP. Now press the upwards 'triangle' button and use the left and right arrows to find "Set as Wallpaper". Your PSP will now ask if you want to make it your wallpaper. Say Yes. Now use the arrows on your PSP to find the theme settings and make sure that your wallpaper is set to 'use'.

Your new PSP background wallpaper is now active and when you navigate around on the PSP, you will notice your new wallpaper/background. If after sometime you get tired of your new wallpaper you can disable it by navigating to Theme Settings on your PSP and selecting it with the 'X' button. Then press the 'x' button and choose the up arrow to select "Do Not Use".
