Everyone should know that selling on ebay is not as simple as some may like you to think,but it is a legitimate business that will allow you to earn a major profit in return for minor seller fees. If you truly want to venture out into this I would suggest using a dropshipper as I once did when I first started selling there.

Finding the right dropshipper can be a drag because while you may find what you think is a great one,you may be wrong. Dropshippers and wholesalers can come off to be legitimate but you should really learn who to trust before picking one. I had a really bad experience back in 2003 with a company called megagoods and what happened changed my whole ebay business but for the better because i moved on to a dropshipper that was trustworthy with even better pricing. Megagoods almost got me suspended from selling on ebay because customers would purchase electronic items that would in turn be broken upon arrival,plus this company had the worst customer service in history,they wouldnt even pay for return shipping,if you look this company up you'll quickly find that they have had thousands of complaints over the years so its unbelievable they remain on the internet still.

The dropshipper I moved on to was salehoo, they gave me great pricing,top customer service,I was ordering on a monday with customers recieving by friday,the companies were all prescreened so I wouldnt be able to run into fraudelent companies. I would sell brand name gym shoes,electronics,men,women,children clothing,I pretty much branched out into everything with this company,now my Business has progressed over the years, I still use this company but the way i do it is purchasing in bulk,selling on my own with all profits going directly to me. Try selling on ebay for a while than if your business progresses like i know it can,branch out like I did, visit this wholesale dropshipper to get an idea of what products you might be interested in selling.

   This comes after you have done all your research on finding suppliers, you want to know exactly how not to look like an amatuer. If you dont have a high seller rating on auction sites looking unproffesional can drive customers to other sellers of the same product because you are deemed as untrustworthy. This comes from not simply looking like you know what your're doing.

Reasons a customer might not purchase from you

1. Description is not exact

2. Bid pricing too high

3. Shipping takes too long

4. Customers ask questions about products you are selling but you are unfamiliar with the product yourself.

Now that you know the do's n donts try to do 1-4 better,if you need help answering a customers question do the research,it doesnt hurt to do a little work to make a sale. 

I am going to pretend that I am selling a handbag to give you an example.

My description: Beautiful Gucci Hobo Handbag in excellent used condition. Previously owned for six months,includes everything recieved at time of purchase, care cards,contollato,shopping bag,dust bag,reciept(info blocked out for privacey) This is the larger size hobo that can fit almost everything except your car!

What I have done is to write a description to the best of my knowledge, I included all details as well as made a joke to show that I am a fun character,a person you might want to know or purchase from,then I was very blunt  as to who i would like to purchase my item by stating non paying bidders will be reported,that fact makes people see that you are on business so you are getting targeted traffic.

Yes it is absolutely better cutting out the middle man to buy in bulk. You are getting many items that are paid for in full meaning the money that you then earn in return for selling goes directly to your pockets. You can even venture out to create your own website,starting with a free website. Just imagine not having to pay anyone,not even having to share your profits with ebay or paypal. Controlling your own stock gives you total control of your business, makes it easier to answer customer questions because you have the product right on hand, the only thing you will have to do is package the goods,you dont even have to go to the post office because the post office comes to you now. It all sounds like a great idea that has worked miracles for others but you have to decide to be serious about your online business and just jump in there. The longer you wait the more time is going by without fattening your pockets.
