I have noticed that lot of people asking "what is the best antivirus",what is the best spyware blocker" and simmilar questions and i didn't noticed that anyone asked "what makes a good antivirus"

so here is a little quide on how to chose best antivirus and what are the caracteristics of good AV

Offcourse all AV's remove already detected viruses but have u ever asked yourself how to protect from those that are not discovered yet,

Good antivirus should have some basic caracteristics that will be mentioned later in text:

First it should be able to remove both spyware and malware so u don't need couple programs installed on your pc to remove each separate,next caracteristic that good AV should have is ability to remove even those viruses and spywares that are not detected and that is where most of them fail which makes them bad.

good ones have some deep heuristic scans for example best on the market now are Kaspersky and AVira.Avira is kinda anoying but it provides great protection because of its heuristic.That means that it doesn't look only for visus signature and report something as virus or spypware just if its registered in some virus database,but also monitor applications on your pc and their behavior and detect if they are trying to do any suspicius activities such as connect to some strange servers,messing up with your registry files and simmilar things.That is what really make good antivirus

there is alot of mallicius codes that are not detected by normal AV's even runtime no just scantime.That means it can do whatever it want to your system without antivirus even warn u on it.I think that is one of the main reasons u need to use some "deep heuristic scan antiviruses like avira or kaspersky.Probably in some time from now there will be made some AV that is better than those 2 and now when u know what to look for when choosing antivirus u can spot it and install on your pc as soon as its been published :D
