One of my friends cold brews her coffee. When I first saw her do it I was very confused about it - but she explained to me that it is really quite simple and since she pours it into a nalgen bottle and takes it to work with her and drinks it throughout the day - she prefers it cold.

She also said that by cold brewing the coffee - it tastes better than just making the coffee and pouring it over ice.

So here is her process:

  1. Take a french press coffee press (or a jar if you don't have a press)
  2. Add coffee to the container and fill with water.
  3. Refrigerate. She sets hers up before she goes to work and then filters it before bed, so in the morning she can just go. I'm not too sure on the time but others seem to say 8 hours.

  4. After your coffee has "brewed" you need to separate the grounds from the coffee. You can do this with a simple strainer basket lined with a coffee filter. Or if you use a french press - just push the plunger down.
  5. When straining pour your coffee into the desired storage container (jar, water bottle, etc).
  6. Drink and Enjoy

I found some other links and included them below. As a well a video showing you how to do it.
