How to control spending
45I understand where you're coming from. I love to spend money. One thing that I have learned from a couple older friends is to buy only what you need. When I go shopping, I ask myself if I really need this or that.
Also, I have recently started buying only what I need over night. For example, if I know that I will run out of coffee creamer in the morning but not the clothes detergent, then I just buy the coffee creamer. That way I'm not tempted to pick up the deterent when I know I won't wash clothes for at least another week. By doing this, I'm not tempted to shop throughout the store and pick up something I don't need.
Anoher thing I do is to not take any money with me when I want to window shop. I'm really window shopping. I leave my pocketbook in the car. I have to really want something to go out to the car to get my purse. So far, I haven't wanted anything that bad.
