How to overcome obstacles

Everyone encounters different types of obstacles in their lives. From the time we are young to when we are old; we face many problems in dealing with life. These obstacles can take the form in many ways. It may be harsh weather, insects, diseases, insufficiency, insecurities, hurts, anger and many more, or can be something as simple as getting through high school and finding a job.

At a young age, we are not equipped to deal with major problems; someone has to help us like a parent or older person who has knowledge about the world. That is why Hindus have a rule to have a guru.  A guru is a great teacher that can guide you in any area of your life.  As soon as we grow older and can study different types of subjects, we can learn different ways about dealing with problems. Some times the situations that surround us can be hard to deal with. For example, if you have a case of acne, you will want to try anything you know to get rid of it.

Your friends will tell you about many different types of products to use for acne or you may find it on your own through television, magazines or internet. But you are making an effort to get rid of this problem. Every step we take, to solve a problem open up ways to see answers in solving that problem. Once you solve the problem, you feel better, and this gives you confidence to deal with another problem and find out the solution.

It may take months or years to solve a situation, depending on one’s experience and knowledge. But a guru can guide you and make your search easier in finding answers. If it is a case of dealing with difficult people around you, this may take years until your situation improves or have a chance to remove yourself from them. But the very fact, that you have a desire to do better and not resign yourself to defeat, gives you courage to overcome this obstacle in your life.

As we grow older, we have different hopes and dreams for our lives. We want to get through school and pass our exams, and then find a job. Though this is our preference, it is not always easy as we imagine it to be, depending on which part of the world you live. Children may have to deal with inadequate living conditions; insects and poor nutrition, find it hard to concentrate on studying. Even when some does pass their exams, the question arises of finding a job.

It may seem like these conditions will not improve, but it does and situation changes. At this time, you have to tell yourself many positive things, and have the determination, that you will find a way out of this problem. The belief in oneself that things will get better, is very consoling and helps us to deal with matters until a solution is found. Every time you find a solution to a problem, you feel stronger to deal with life and you become more experienced.

Very interesting topic for a hub. I think you are right that self-confidence matters a lot. Having a support group of friends and relatives are also good. "Zen" exercises can also help a lot in terms of not blowing things out of proportion.
