1 .- Open My Computer. 2 .- Right click on the hard disk you want to recover the space. (eg click the right mouse button on C: \). 3 .- Click on Properties. 4 .- General, press release disk space (at the bottom of the window). 5 .- Windows will scan the computer to find all the files available for cleaning. 6 .- Once we are in the window of free space on disk, check all the boxes (except the box "compress old files") that are occupying space and then click OK and then OK if you want to continue the process.

 Compress:

we made the release of disk space, we are given the option to compress your hard disk. Determination to recommend that users do not compress your hard disk or compress your old archives

Disable System Restore

Windows XP users can reduce the space used by System Restore and restore Windows and many gigabytes of additional hard disk.

These are the steps to use this feature:

1 .- Click Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools and System Restore to open

2 .- In the System Restore window, we click on System Restore Settings, and then leave a blank box Disable System Restore.

Windows 95 users Windows 95 users can save space on your hard drive making any of the following steps:

1 .- Click Start and then Search

2 .- In the "file type" *. tmp write and verify that the computer is looking for these files in the C: drive or on the disk where the operating system is installed.

3 .- Find and delete temporary files that have found.

Clean *. chk files Make the same steps listed for temporary files and delete the files found. Remove old programs or games that are not used
