Having lived in Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico now for 1 year I have seen a lot of tourists come from Canada and the United States. One of the questions they always ask me here is "How do I find a good doctor in Manzanillo Mexico?". As you drive around Manzanillo you will see about 100 signs that say doctor consult only 25 pesos (about 2 dollars), but having been to these, let me explain WHY it's best to see a full doctor.

When living in Mexico your body is exposed to lots of parasites that you are not used to in United States and Canada, that being said you tend to get sick a lot from parasites. I myself have been sick for 2 times with Amebas, Salmonella and Giardia, now it's not as bad as it sounds if you know HOW to treat it!

My first experience with the 2 dollar cheap doctor came with my first round of parasites. I was treated and told that I have Ameba's and Salmonella, then promptly handed a stack of pills (about 6 different boxes). So I go home and take all my pills like a good sick person, do all the things, stay away from hot sauce and things to irritate me.

Well after 10 days of doing that I still had MORE pain then before, so I went back and I was put on another round of pills. So after TONS of pills and 1 month of pain, it was time for a new aproach! After asking around to my local American/Canadian friends I stumbled onto Dr. Domingez, for me this was a chance to seek better care.

Dr. Domingez explained to me that these cheap doctors main goal is to sell generic medicines by the bulk, he believes MOST doctors do try and help, but most people here expect to be pumped with drugs when they go to the doctor.

That is the reason that I got so sick for so long, is becasue the rounds of medicine I was put on was like a time bomb going off inside me. It killed everything, good or bad. So he put me on 1 medicine that was not destructive to kill the parasites and also suggest some natural things to bring me back to proper health. It litterlly took 1 month for me to recover from seing a 2 dollar doctor!

This is when I learned the rule of thumb is if you are sick with diharea or vomiting for over 24 hours it's time to go see a qualified doctor. I recently got sick with the same combo and my recovery time was 2 days thanks to doctor Domingez.

So while in mexico please make sure that you be careful while visiting the cheap doctors. My personal recomendation is to go visit Dr Domingez if you have sickness while traveling to Manzanillo Mexico.

Dr. Domingez speaks fluent english and spanish and is VERY posive and takes the TIME with every patient to fully explain WHAT is going on and how he plans to treat it, and WHY it thinks it's the best way to treat you this way. I can honestly say that he still cares for his patients unlike so many of our doctors from the united states.

If you wish to see Dr. Domingez his office is right across the street from Soriana/Burger King, so there is convient manzanillo shopping nearby. You will see a dentist up front called Brackets, just go past that and he is first to left. Walk ins are always welcome! Matter of fact I have never made an appointment.
