How to find the right running shoe
65The Perfect Fit!
To find out what type of running shoes you should buy, you first need to know what kind of feet you have. There are three types of feet:
1) Flat feet
2) High-arched feet
3) Neutral or Normal feet
1) Flat feet
If you have a flat foot you need pronation support. It can be harmful or very dangerous to the runner if you have a flat foot and wear the wrong shoe/sneaker because the runners foot tends to pronate more than usual. So choose a sneaker/shoe that rigidly support the foot so that it won't pronate during running. Its also good to search for padding at the arch area.
So how do you know if you have a flat foot?
You will know if you have a flat foot if you don't see any arch there. The bottom of you foot , from your toes to your heel, is completely flat. So make sure when you purchase any foot wear that it says "motion control" or "stability" is written on the shoe box.
2) High-arched feet
if you have high-arched feet tends to cause supination. So supination control is vital. So the shoe/sneaker should have cushioned shoes. A lot of padding in the insole, outsole and arch area is important.
How do you know if you have high-arched feet?
You will notice a high and definite arch on your foot. So it is important to look for flexible shoes with a soft midsole that absorbs shock.
3) Neutral or Normal feet
To look for the right running shoe type you need to purchase one that has the right level of cushioning and support. You can choose a wide variety of running shoes with this particular foot type. So a sneaker made for neutral runners or a slight flat-foot/high-arched foot is fine for normal feet.
There are hundreds of shoes out there on the market today targeting these 3 foot types. Its vital to choose the right footwear because if you don't, you could encounter serious foot problems. If you are looking for a great running shoe check the link out below.

thanks sweetie!
Yaaaaay! Finally a hub for people who want great footwear! I have tried several running shoes, but having a high instep makes it a tad difficult. My solution, simple - men's footwear! The choices were better, its that simple. Men have weird feet! LOL! (What does that say about me? Hmm.)

Great article Jen. Really liked it. I have sort of flat feet so I have to remember to get the right shoes otherwise it sucks when I run. It can really hurt if you are going long distances.
