How to fix your Virtumonde dll virus problem permanently
70How to fix your virtumonde dll problem
I've just had my own personal bad experience with the nasty virtumonde dll trojan virus.
I don't know how it infected my computer but just before christmas I started to get loads of pop-ups then malware/threat alerts and Internet Explorer would suddenly open and blank pages would just replicate in quick succession. On top of all this the performance of my PC really slowed down.
It got to the stage where I literally couldn't get anything done. As soon as I hit a key pop-ups would appear and I'd spend the next few minutes closing them down.
I'd never really had any problems before. I had McAfee software installed and just assumed that this was always going to provide me with sufficient protection. Obviously not. There seems to be a number of ways in which the virtumonde dll virus can find its way onto a PC. I think I might have downloaded some codec when viewing a video which may have caused it but I'm not sure.
Anyway, I started to look into the problem by doing some research online. In one way it was comforting to find that I wasn't alone. Thousands of people have been affected by this virus and it looks like many more suffer the same fate each and every day.
I tried 3 additional Spyware programs - SpyBot, AVG and SpyHunter. Each time I ran a scan from these programs I got the impression that they had successfully removed the offending items but they soon reappeared again.
I found a good few resources providing free manual methods of fixing the problem but to tell you the truth they were way beyond my basic abilities. I wanted a quick and automated method of sorting this bad mother out!
To cut a long story short I eventually came across an article from a self-confessed computer geek who'd been in the business for over 20 years. He seemed to have a good knowledge of this particular area and especially the virtumonde virus.
He recommended a Spyware program which I hadn't heard of. I bought it together with a registry cleaner that was bundled with it at a discounted price. I ran them both and they picked up well over 2,000 problems on my PC!
I'm glad to say that my computer is currently glitch free and is running faster than before.
I am running the Spyware and Registry Cleaner every day at the moment just to be on the safe side but it's been well over a week since I had a problem. When I'm ready I'll just run them once a week or every 10 days or so.
