How to gain weight naturally - Look and Feel Healthier
81How to gain weight naturally
Gaining weight naturally is a very interesting discussion topic as when most people hear this they will immediately associate it with someone wanted to gain weight in terms of putting on muscle or muscle mass but there are also people out there who feel skinny or perhaps feel they could fill out in area’s usually in the face for many. A person with a skinny face may just be like that due to there body type even though people may see them as malnourished this is usually true.
A simple way to put on weight is to eat meals at regular 3-4 hour intervals this will speed up your metabolism which some believe will make your body loose weight. This is true but it will also help your face fill out and look healthier as your body is getting the food it needs, people who eat every 6 hours or so tend to carry more fat and may appear skinnier in the face and appear unhealthy. This method of eating makes your body think that it doesn't know when it will next get food so it will hold onto any fat it can.
Body Types
Depending on your body type it will effect how you should go about gaining weight naturally.
For example a person who is naturally an ectomorph will usually be thing, long limbed and often appear very skinny and malnourished. Most people who are ectomorphs eat a ton of food and don’t seem to put on any weight and this is usually due to the fact that they are constantly snacking throughout the day causing there metabolism to work in overtime.
Ectomorphs also tend not to look at the sort of diet they consume as they usually eat a varied but mostly foods that do not promote gaining weight. The middle body type is a mesomorph which is in between a ectomorph and endomorph and these people will often look at an average weight an often look quite muscular without much effort. These sorts of people should have no trouble gaining weight or putting on muscle.
The last body type is the endomorph this is a person who is usually a little overweight and will have to work quite hard to keep fat off and will have to stay clear from sugary snacks to avoid gaining weight quickly.
Gaining Weight Diet (Non Muscle Grower)
For people who think they appear too thin and want to add a little extra weight to fill out , its actually quite easy and will involve a few changes to what they eat and how often they eat. Someone who is thin and eats a lot of food may be an ectomorph which means they will have to consume more calories than other body types in order to put on any weight.
Some people may think they are consuming a lot of calories per day but if you’re not putting on weight that shows that you are eating enough calories to maintain your current body type and sometimes even enough to make you loose weight.
Depending on the speed of your metabolism you will need to start consuming higher levels of carbohydrates and protein and space out your meals around every 2 – 3 hours. The easy way to monitor yourself is to eat a lot of carbohydrates for around a week and monitor your weight gain and if your happy with the weight gain and notice a good improvement keep you’re eating patterns similar otherwise increase or decrease depending on your visual goals.
Gaining Weight (Weight Training)
The best way for someone to start increasing there weight is to start exercising and start using weights at a gym or at home. This will ramp up your metabolism and make you hungrier which mean you will consume more foods and growing muscle at the same time meaning you will gain weight quite quickly.
For someone really very new to weights they will notice a huge improvement in the first 1 – 3 months as beginner weight gains will start to show and if that is sufficient they can just go to the gym occasionally to maintain a level they are happy with.
Gaining Weight Diet (Muscle Grower)
I’m sure if you’ve been attending the gym and been trying to gain weight naturally you always here people mentioning whey proteins and all sorts of crazy supplements. These are alright but there is a lot of respect in doing it naturally and without the help of all these modern pharmaceutical powders. Similar to someone who doesn’t go to the gym it’s basically the same principal you increase your food intake until you start seeing results.
Remember the process of building muscle is very slow and you can only physically build 1-2 kg’s of muscle in a month or a bit more if you lucky, it all depends on your testosterone levels. For men eating foods that increase the levels of testosterone should in theory help you pack on more muscle. (e.g. oysters contain zinc which are linked to testosterone levels.)
For someone who is building muscle in order to put on weight it’s important to eat healthy range of carbohydrates and protein. Sticking to a higher carbohydrate diet only on workout days will reduce the chance of gaining unwanted fat.
Foods to Naturally Gain Weight ( Healthy)

Anyone interested in weight gaining for muscle growers though should check out my hub http://hubpages.com/hub/Mass-Gaining-and-Muscle-Ma
thanks for the comment, thats a good muscle grower hub:)
it seems they are useful, then could you tell me how to lose weight?
well its hard to in a comment box:P but its about eating what your body needs and just consider food as a fuel source ,give it what it needs no more
and what really helped me loose weight was to really push yourself during cardio or exercise when you feel like you want to stop , dont stop and keep going :P
Eating every 3 hours does increase your metabolism, but you are substantially increasing your caloric intake, so you will gain weight due to being in a calorie surplus. Nice hub btw.
thanks for the comment dcristo:)
