I can't remember the last time I made it through a week without hearing people talk about buying leads. Most people believe that the more they pay for the leads, the better the results they will see. That's a lie. If you are spending money on leads, regardless of how much you are spending, you need to stop and save your money.

Good leads do produce better results, but I don't care how much money you spend, nothing will build your lead database better than building relationships with the people in your target market. Generating your own exclusive mlml leads is much easier than it sounds, it just requires a few basic tools. The tools cost pennies in comparison to the hundreds and even thousands of dollars people spend every month to get little or no results.

For example... my target market is business owners and Internet marketers. To reach my target market, I develop key phrases based on highly searched key phrases such as home based business, make money online or work at home. Because of the large volume of competition for these phrases, I must know how to formulate my articles, blogs, descriptions and forum posts in such a way that I can break into those search results and harvest the traffic. This is done by laser targeting your keywords and phrases.

What are the chances that I can buy leads that are so targeted that they will fit into my criteria for leadership in my organization... not great if I'm not reaching the right people. That is why your marketing resources are vital to your success. Advertising and marketing to the wrong resources build ineffective mailing lists. Even Donald Trump knows the value in qualifying and interviewing his candidates, he does it on national T.V. for all of us to see. Perhaps we should look to Mr. Trump for pointers and lessons in developing an organization.

I certainly wouldn't want to target business opportunity seekers if I am looking for leaders, for example. Leaders have experience. They are focused, dedicated and willing to receive direction from the top and pass it on to their team! The front line of any mlm matrix must be built with leaders before you begin to fill in the rest. Without leadership in place (at the top) to train others, your organization will crumble. All change starts at the top!

Building an online business isn't about duplication. The only thing that's ever been duplicated online is failure. Building a business is about finding leaders and then delegating the work load. I have found that down line members are much more likely to stay, and produce, when authority is delegated. Delegation builds leaders and makes people are part of a team.

People like to belong, and feel loved and respected. If you are not a delegating as a leader, you are poisoning people and killing yourself. A good coach will work to keep their team in synch and delegate in such a way as to MAKE things happen! That's what winners do... they don't complain about not having the money to build their business or obtain knowledge, they go get the money!

The social media is a much better place to find leaders than, let's say, traffic exchanges, safe lists for free classified sites. Even Craiglist suffers in comparison to places like FaceBook, MySpace, YouTube and countless others. The lead databases already exist, why waste your money? Think about it. Why buy leads when you can access a database of four million prospects or free? It's like having access to unlimited resumes', pictures included!

Social marketing communities are a wealth of leads, you just have to know where to look and what to look for. A good Internet marketer will know how to contact people and convert just about everyone they talk to into a lead, or at the very minimum, a visit to your web site. By incorporating a lead capture system, you will be able to harvest those leads and begin to build the relationship with your database on the back end through an auto responder.

Social marketing is all about driving traffic. Using the social media correctly, driving traffic through an auto responder will help you build a mailing list that will last. Fill your AR with good content and a little "My Story" marketing, and you have the recipe for an automated follow up system that will sell for you, even while you are sleeping at night. Believe me, it's a good feeling to know that the house payment will be there when you wake up in the morning! All you have to do is learn the right way to do things.
