Do you really want to know how to make your curly hair look fantabulous????? It takes a little work and the right hair products for you to get the Knock-Out Curly Hair you are dying for!

I am a little biased when it comes to product lines. I prefer Matrix products to all others and I also recommend that when you start using a line you use just that line. Do not mix and match because several products do not mix well with others unless they are from the same line.

Here are some tips on taming your curly locks and making yourself look like a superstar to boot!

I like to use Matrix Curl Life and Matrix Biolage products. The Curl Life products are usually contained within green packaging and have a nice outdoorsy scent to the shampoo and conditioner and the Biolage has a nice lite, fresh scent and has white packaging.

Once you wash and condition your hair with Curl Life shampoo and conditioner you will need to apply a hair smoothing product to your hair. In this case, I recommend using Matrix Biolage Smoothing Gel. The smoothing gel will add shine to your hair while smoothing out rough feeling hair. The smoothing gel can also aid in combing out wet hair tangles. When applying the gel product you should squeeze a little bit in your hands and rub it around to mix the liquid, Apply to ends first and whatever is remaing to the middle of the shaft. I do not recommend applying this product to your roots because it may cause your hair to look greasy and we don't want that!

After applying the smoothing gel you may apply the Curl Life spiraling spray. It comes in a small pump bottle and make sure you spray your hair good and rub your hands through to even out the product. The spiraling spray helps define the curl without making it stiff when it dries.

To achieve a nice smooth curl effect when drying I recommend using an ionic hair dryer and a diffuser attachment. The ionic blowdryers are neat because they aid in drying your hair without drying it out! You can find this type of blowdryer at a beauty supply store or at Walmart. The diffuser attachment should come with the dryer. The diffuser dries your hair without blowing it all over the place.

Before drying your hair you should take 1 inch sections of hair and use your index finger and spiral them around your finger for nice springy wet curls that are organized. Do this all over your head. This aids in smoothing out the curl and make the curls look nice and defined. To achieve some volume you may flip your hair upside down and dry with the diffuser halfway while using your fingers to scrunch the hair.

I recommend drying halfway so you don't over dry your hair and caused frazzled and split ends. Too much drying is not good. You may spray in some hair spray or spritz but I would only spray your curls lightly because you don't want rock hard curls. You want your hair to be bouncy and somewhat flexible. Use your fingers to scrunch the hair and off you go!!!!!

Please note: If Matrix products are not for you it is perfectly ok to try another line. I suggest Matrix products because they are what has worked for me!
