Quick mates

Checkmate is a word usually heard at the end of a chess game. A player shouts checkmate when his side of the board has pieces that can attack the opposing king. When in checkmate the player does not have the freedom to move the king anywhere he/she wants. In this situation the king is in a tight or check position and he will be asked to move and if it is not possible the game ends.

There are some moves that you can master to be able to easily say checkmate. These moves are not a guarantee to win because you have to analyze at the same time make right decision on when to use this moves.

A successful win is achieved by how you start the game. If you plan on protecting other pieces you will bring out the queen, others rush for the knight and end up messing the game. If you are using the white pieces, first move the pawn one space a head usually termed as the E2-E3 space. Concentrate on safely moving to F7 without being captured because this space usually occupied by the black Kings bishop is the perfect spot for bringing the game to an end.

To end the game you can also move the Queen diagonally from D1-F3. You will be moving her 2 spaces ahead through a clear path, therefore before making this crucial move make sure it’s safe. Next is to move the Kings Bishop 3 spaces diagonally, and this will be from F1-C4. Since this is a dangerous move make it your third and not fourth.

The final move is simple if you have, looked at the overall game and noticed that the F7 space can only be captured by the king go ahead and use the queen to take the F7 pawn and have the king in checkmate. If this is complicated for you, a simple way to remember these four moves is by following these steps.

When you start, move the Kings pawn 1 to 2 spaces forward; there is no specific space to move it to. After this move the Kings Bishop up 3 spaces diagonally, and then move your Queen 2 squares diagonally. After your opponent plays, you can end the game by moving your Queen vertically up and taking the pawn that is located right in front your opponents bishop.

These sleek moves are a quick way to beat and humiliate so called expert players. These moves will work well if your opponent is a novice. Therefore before using this moves, find out if your opponent is an expert in the game or not. These game moves are not fool proof; you need to keep some things in mind like the fact that your opponent has the ability to block your checkmate. This is done when he moves his pawn forward or his knight ahead of your queens’ way which will cause you to lose your queen in the process. Therefore although these four moves will get you the checkmate, be careful.

The moves you describe are called the 'Scholar's Mate'. It is an old trick which rarely works against experienced players, as it is easily defended with the move Ng8-f6. Also, bringing your queen into play that early in a game is asking for trouble. You are giving your opponent a free move to develop a minor piece and threaten your queen at the same time. Once your opponent controls the board's center, your game is toast.
