There are many ways to get traffic to your website. Good keyword can be a factory, however when you have a blog, key words are not usually something that you can factor into your experiences.

You can always pay for traffic, but I personally question this so called traffic. Advertising and adsense can also work. You would need to do your research into what kind of sites would be likely to attract people to your blog.

If you are looking for free traffic on way would be to use a traffic exchange. These can be very useful, however if you have adsense associated on your blog google don't usually like traffic exchanges, and won't usually count them as hits to your site.

Another free way to get traffic to your blog is safelists. I would strongely recommend if you do use safelists that you open a seperate e-mail account to your usual one. I would also recommend a gmail account, as this type of account will be able to deal with volume of e-mails you will receive.

You can also join blogrings. These are usually groups of blogs which will have a common theme. ie: Babies, knitting etc; This is where you help each other and read each others blogs. Blog rings are a growing trend, so now would be a great time to join one.

Also make sure you register you blog url with the search engines. Make it cached, it won't necessariy give you and advantage, but it only take a minute to do and certainly won't hurt.
