How to get pregnant fast: Some best tips for getting pregnant quickly
79Trying to conceive
Many people when they finally decide it’s the right time for them to have kids, want the pregnancy to happen as fast as possible.
Trying to conceive can be an exiting time in your life, but it can also be very frustrating, if it does not happen right away. I remember I was upset every time my period showed up again, and kept wondering if there was any physical problem that was preventing me from getting pregnant.
If you are getting worried, do not panic and give yourself some time. Unlike many other things in your life, pregnancy is very difficult to control, and getting pregnant is not an exact science. However, there are some things you can do to make sure you get pregnant quicker.
Tips for getting pregnant quickly - Know when you are most fertile!
Pregnancy occurs when you have intercourse during your fertile period, i.e. 2-3 days around the time you ovulate, once one of the sperm fertilizes the egg that you have released. You only release one egg per month, so you have about 12 opportunities each year to get pregnant.
So the most important thing you can do to speed up the process is to figure out exactly when you are ovulating and have intercouse during that “window of opportunity” time. Your egg can live for about 12-36 hours, sperm can usually live for 3-5 days. So the best day to try to conceive would be before ovulation or on the ovluation day itself.
Ovulation is easy to detect, once you know what signs to look for. Some signs of ovulation warn you that ovulation is approaching, allowing you to time sex for pregnancy. Other signs of ovulation let you know that ovulation has passed.
- Changes in cervical mucous - When you’re not ovulating, your cervical mucus may be absent, or appear sticky or creamy in consistency. When ovulation is getting closer, cervical mucus becomes more abundant, and its consistency resembles raw egg white, and can stretch up to an inch or more. While tracking cervical mucus is one of the best and easiest ways to predict your most fertile time of the month, keep in mind that certain medications, such as Clomid, may have a side-effect of drying up your cervical mucus.
- Changes in body basal temperature – Tracking body basal temperature is a most popular method of tracking ovulation among women trying to get pregnant. Your body basal temperature will rise by a few tenths of a degree, and stay elevated, after ovulation. This rise in temperature is caused by the hormone progesterone, which increases immediate after ovulation. By charting your body basal temperature, you can detect this increase in temperature. This method will not warn you that the ovulation is coming, it will only tell you that you have already ovulated.
- Changes in cervical position - When you’re most fertile, your cervix will be higher, softer, and more open. Detecting cervical position takes a little practice, but this method may help you when your cervical mucous is dried out by Clomid or other medications.
- Breast tenderness - Some women experience tenderness in their breasts just before or after ovulation. This is related to the hormones rushing in your body, getting ready for the potential of pregnancy.
- Tracking your cycle. If your periods are regular, then counting days of your cycle can be an easy and reliable way to track ovulation. The first day of a woman's period is 14 days after ovulation. The number of days between ovulation and the start of the next period is fairly consistent among all women. So, for example, if you have a 30 day cycle, you will ovulate on day 16 (30-14=16). Day 1 is the first day of her next period.
However, the number of days between the start of the period and the next ovulation can vary quite a bit between women, or even from month to month for the same woman. So if your cycles vary in length or you frequently miss periods, you will not get very accurate information with this method.
Of course, you can just take an easy way, and just have an intercourse every other day of the month. Why not just have it every day? We don't want to wear your partner down, do we? But seriously, this is to ensure higher sperm count and sperm which can live longer.
Another easy solution is to purchase an ovulation pretictor kit. You can find those in the most pharmacies and big grocery stores in the feminine aile. You’ll have to follow directions on the package to detect your most fertile days. Then it is up to you to have intercourse on these days to conceive.
More tips for Getting Pregnant
- First of all, relax and enjoy the process! Stress can negatively impact your fertility, so try to replace any negative thoughts that you may have with positive images of your future pregnancy and parenthood.
- Make your sex life enjoyable. Sometimes when a couple is trying to conceive it will affect the quality of their sex, making it more a chore or duty, than pleasure. Some stuties also show that when women orgasm, it creates an alkaline state in the vagina that sperm prefer over the normal acid conditions. If you have an orgasm at the same time or shortly after your partner ejaculates, it increases the opportunity for sperm to survive the trip to the cervix. Enjoyable sex also means higher sperm count and better "swimmers".
- Lie down after intercourse for 15-20 minutes. Standing up after intercourse can cause the semen to leak out. Try to wait twenty minutes after sex before getting up and moving around. You can also try putting a pillow under your pelvis to help tilt your body so the sperm can travel upwards easier.
- Your partner should avoid overheating or constricting his testicles. Some studies have shown that sperm counts drop when men wear tight pants or underwear. He should also avoid saunas and hot tubs.
- Start taking folic acid and prenatal vitamins. Folic acid and other vitamins are very important during the first trimester of pregnancy.
- Quit smoking and limit alcohol consumption, do not use drugs at the time of conception. Not only it is unhealthy for you and your unborn child, these substances also negatively affect fertility.

You are still not pregnant: what now?
- Generally, it is recommended that if you are over 35 and you are trying to conceive for 6 months or more, then you should consult a specialist to rule out any potential problems. Some studies have shown that about one-third of women between age 35 and 39 and two-thirds of women over 40 have fertility problems.
- If you are under 35, you can give yourself more time – up to one year.
- If you don’t notice any signs of ovulation, or your periods are irregular, you should definitely let your doctor know. This information may help your doctor make a diagnosis of infertility.
- If you find yourself in that situation, I highly recommend the book “Inconceivable” by Julia Indichova. Also, visit her website Fertile Heart and join the community. You can read some amazing stories and get support through your journey. Good luck to you!

Hey TTC ladies!
Believe it or not, my husband and I tried to conceive for more than 2 years. We tried to refrain from sex for days and even weeks but it didn't help.
Worst part is, there were empty hopes - I thought I was pregnant but in the end I wasn't. It's really frustrating and I understand that.
I was in Yahoo Answers and in this section quite some time ago and I ask a question similar to yours and a person recommended me a book. It's entitled "Getting Pregnant Bible". I swear it's like a gift from God!
It teaches stuffs like the seven things you need to do before even you try to get pregnant to ensure a healthy pregnancy; the appropriate diet to conceive; how to increase your husband's sperm count; the ovulation cycle and many others!
I am already having my 4th child now! I really recommend that you try reading this book out. Also, they are currently giving free bonus books like fertility secrets and choosing your baby gender! It's for a limited time only!

All the best and lots of baby dust =)
