How to get the wifi working for the Lexmark x4530

I have had to get this going again after my computer crashed, so I figured I would layout the step by step instructions for getting the wifi going again...

[bob] How do I get the wi-fi connection going for my x4530?
[Janice] Welcome to Lexmark Chat Support. This is Jan.
[bob] hi jan
[Janice] Hi Bob!
[Janice] Let me help you with that.
[Janice] Which version of Mac OS X do you have?
[bob] 10.5.7 Intel
[Janice] Alright
[Janice] Has this printer worked wirelessly before on this computer or would this be your first time installing it?
[bob] it has worked for this computer before
[Janice] What happened?
[bob] computer crashed
[Janice] I see.
[Janice] So, you've reinstalled the printer?
[Janice] Did you use the disc or did you download the driver from our website?
[bob] I put the disk in - but I think the drivers are outdated
[Janice] That's correct.
[Janice] We have an updated driver from our website.
[Janice] By the way, how's the wifi light on the printer?
[bob] well right now it is in standby, but if I hit the power button it turns green
[Janice] Alright, turn it on
[bob] ok its on
[Janice] Okay
[Janice] We'll download an updated driver from our website.
[Janice] You can download it here >> [Opened: http://downloads.lexmark.com:80/perl/downloads/downloads.cgi?os_used=Mac%20OS%20X%2010.5&mode=OS&ccs=229:1:0:596:0:0]
[Janice] Download Filename: 3500-4500_Series_Web_Installer.dmg
[bob] ok downloading
[Janice] okay
[Janice] Let me know when it's done downloading.
[bob] ok all done - do you want me to open the file?
[Janice] Yes please.
[Janice] Do not hit install but instead scroll down and go to Lexmark Extras folder
[bob] ok in the extras folder
[Janice] okay
[Janice] What do you have there?
[bob] 10.4 and 10.5
[Janice] Go to 10.5
[Janice] Then run Setup Assistant
[bob] ok
[Janice] okay
[bob] should I click my printer is already setup just installing on a new computer?
[Janice] Select the second option there.
[Janice] Yes
[bob] ok it searched for printers and found the 4530 should I select it?
[Janice] yes
[bob] ok something just popped up that says "your printer has not been added to the list in the printer setup utility - launch the application and add the printer."
[Janice] I see.
[Janice] What we'll do is uninstall and reinstall the downloaded driver.
[bob] ok so what do I need to do ?
[Janice] Do you have the Lexmark folder on your desktop?
[bob] no
[Janice] okay
[bob] I still have the file I just d/ld if thats what you mean?
[Janice] When you install the printer, it automatically creates a shortcut folder on the desktop.
[Janice] Do you have it there?
[bob] nope
[Janice] I'm not talking about the downloaded web installer.
[Janice] Okay then. Go to the Hard Drive > Library > Printers > Lexmark
[bob] ok I am there
[Janice] Do you have the 4500 series folder there?
[bob] nope
[Janice] Go to 2007 folder then
[Janice] You should have the 3500-4500 folder there.
[bob] ok yep
[Janice] okay
[Janice] Open it and run Uninstaller.
[bob] ok running
[bob] done
[Janice] okay
[Janice] Once you're done, install the downloaded driver.
[Janice] Are you installing it now?
[bob] yep
[Janice] okay
[bob] alright - she is printing thanks for your help!!!
