Getting the search engines interested in your website or blog is not that difficult and nowadays there are tools which can help you achieve this in very little time.

  1. Pingomatic: when you submit your blog's details on this is website, the service will update different search engines that your blog has updated. Spiders will come crawling your blog within hours!
  2. Social bookmarking sites like StumbleUpon and Digg: submit your blog/website to these social bookmarking sites and besides the traffic you'll get, your site will be indexed by search engines very fast. Ask your friends/colleagues to digg/stumble your site to bring extra traffic
  3. Create a one page Blogger or Wordpress blog and link it to your site: this is very easy to do. Signup for either (or both services) and create a short 1-page review or explanation for your main site linking to it. Search engines love Blogger and Wordpress blogs and will follow the links to your site

These are some of the easiest methods you can use to get you indexed fast but it's by no means an exhaustive list. Feel free to add your own methods/techniques in the comments below

I like it, short, sweet and to the point!  awesome stuff!  Can't wait for more!

Ok tried to use your little tool but it is a shell site for squirt which is a paid service....hmmm don't know whether to trust or question your honesty?

QUIT (Not Squirt) is not my tool. It was developed by Eli at Bluehatseo.com but apparently it was put offline due to abuse. I have removed it from my list above.

Very useful stuff, and the web links look relevant too. Must go and check them now. I see you've removed the QUIT link which will save me some frustration.

Thanks yiorgos

Using a RSS is very effective in getting a Web page indexed quickly by Google - not hours but minutes!

Blogware such as WordPress will automatically send a ping to rpc.pingomatic.com by default when you publish a new post.

Google can pick up this ping and index the new Web page within minutes. The speed at which Google can index and rank a page is blazingly fast.

Here is the evidence that Google indexed a new Web page in 5 minutes - http://www.blogopreneur.com/?p=702
