Many people especially those who regularly take seminars and presentations always have faced this complaint…that his voice is illegible. Well help is at hand and in this article we shall be discussing some of the techniques used for boosting your existing voice.

There is a common misconception that when we use maximum air pressure, the sound produced will also be louder. Well it exactly isn’t correct. Inducing more pressure than needed will lessen the support needed for your voice to travel long distances. When more pressure is applied, it in turn induces much strain in the larynx, vocal chords, as well as the muscles and tendons of neck and the shoulders. The vocal range will be limited as well as the upper range of the tone of the voice will also falter. Moreover fatigue may come quickly than imagined and the resultant voice will be thin and will also sound brittle and tensed.

When the pressure is reduced we will find that the voice comes out more deeply than it had been before. The blending of the registers will be much better. Strain and fatigue which had marred the voice previously will also be lessened. The total resultant volume will be considerably higher than imagined. Now for the explanation about the boost in voice. When less pressure is supplied, the throat will be open more.

The vibrations which were produced in the larynx will have an easy and a resonating path while traversing all the distance to the mouth. Blending of vocal registers will be successful and it will sound less like shouting. Hence we come to the conclusion that voice power is boosted according to the resonance, not according to the pressure being applied. The face and the neck muscles will be relaxed and you can even add a look of passion to the voice and the face!!
