a really interesting perspective

You know to develop your photography skills it is necessary to develop (no pun intended) your sense of perspective when it comes to a photograph or a scene in front of you which merits a photo.

It does pay to remember that the best photographers discard the majority of their images so do not fall into the trap of expecting a good photo each and every time you take one.

You will need to be prepared and that means taking your camera with you and have photography well and clearly in your mind when you do.

Now many of you may not have any idea of what perspective means when you come to taking a photograph.

Perspective means taking a photo from a particular angle or engaging a particular point of view to produce a photo other than that which you would normally do. That for many will mean a photo taken with a more considered idea than just raising your camera when you wish to use it and taking whatever is in front of you.

Perspective can also give you a sense of distance and depth, it can suggest the majesty of a building and its intricate details.

You see things from looking at different angles and even from behind you which you never dreamt of existed before. It does make your photographic journey a voyage of self discovery and the discovery of the environment around you and of which you and others form a part.

But let's get on a look at some photos shall we, borrowed from the web to better illustrate to you just what perspective in photography means.

You need good eysight to work this one out, it looks as if it is stairs between seats but look closer it is certainly not. Quite cute really, isn't it?

Ah how clever this photographer is, looking at the building as it heads towards the sky and capturing some of the intricate detail which would not be available from a straight on view. It's the perspective really.

Colours and lines, especially curved ones make this image so fascinating and the tones of its natural colouring, and no, I don't think it is sand dunes, what do you think?
