We all know that diet pills don't work, and eating funky things, like grass roots is yucky. So I'm here to tell you a real life way to lose the weight from a real life woman who has had to do it after 3 sections!

With each pregnancy I gained a whopping 50 lbs! Not anywhere near the 25 recommended. So after the 6 week recovery period I was anxious to get it off. The biggest problem area after any birth (and especially c-sections) is the tummy. Tackle that first with pilates. The best way would be to sign up for a class at your local community center or college so you can have an instructer to point out when you are doing it correctly. If you don't have that option, Winsor Pilates videos are an awesome alternative. They have 60min and 30 min versions. If you like you can find these used through ebay or thrift stores. Pilates works wonders on your tummy because your ab muscles are engaged throughout the entire workout. Nothing has trimmed my tummy (and thighs and butt) faster. One day I couldn't fit a pair of pants over my tush, two weeks later, they fit fine. All because of pilates.

Don't diet. Change your habits. Don't go out to eat more than once a week. When you make meals at home you have better control over what goes into your foods. Substitute here and there with healthier ingredients. Throw chopped veggies into sauces, bake breaded chicken instead of frying, use applesauce instead of oil in your baking. Switch to diet soda and drink water all day long. Small changes like these add up quick.

Get up! Don't spend more than an hour in front of the t.v. unless you're excercising. Mow your lawn, paint your daughters room, put in a vegetable garden. Do these things you've been putting off now because it's a double whammy- painting a bedroom burns roughly 200 calories and hour!

Lastly, use an online calorie web site. My favorite is Calorie-Count.com. You can find out how many calories burned for hundreds of activities from basketball to folding laundry. They also show how many calories are in different foods and many you should eat a day to reach your diet goal.

Don't stress. You had a baby. Relax. It will come off, but the more you stress the harder it will be. It took nine months to put on the weight. Be kind to yourself and allow At Least that amount of time to take it off.
