Increase your scores to earn online

Earning online money or to express oneself, are the two major reasons people prefer hubpages. No matter what reason, knowingly or unknowingly, one should be able to maintain a good hubscore to unleash the potential of their hubs. Not to mention, to earn online money, a good author/hub score is a must.

This hub reveals the factors that determines the author score(not yet published by hubpages), which i personally recognized and also from other veteran hubbers.

  • The very presentation:
How you deliver your hubs really matters. Hubpages tend to cut down the score of those hubs with grammatical mistakes and those with poor way of arrangement.
  • Non competitiveness:
Thats absolutely right, we should be competitive to bring our hubs up. The fact is, there are not much changes we can do here. Every hubs look the same, there is no color change allowed, no font changes, no other high html specialties. So, all we can do is to produce a hub, utilizing those facilities provided to make it better and competitive.
I've tried the changes with capsules and got results. For example, instead of writing a long content in one capsule, break it and use two 'text capsules'. Use paragraphs, highlight needed words using bold and italics, use pictures and videos at applicable areas.
  • Length of a hub:
Hubs which are too short or too long are not appreciable. A typical hub may contain 700-1200 words, but you may go upto 1400 if needed, but more than that may scare your readers away and your scores too.
  • Unpublished hubs:
Never ever leave a hub unpublished too long, it may become a parasite to your scores. If you are not ready to publish an unfinished hub, make sure that you do the very next day. Im talking from my own experience. I would like to advise you to make sure about the topic and its possible content before you start your work. I usually use notepad to assemble the points and ideas before hand.
  • Fan hunger:
This is one plague which engulf most of us which may lead our hubpage career[..:)] to disaster. Don't go fetch too many fans all by once, there are much more work you can do before you start getting fans. Learn to create better hubs, improve your skills, research on the topics you have.
Also, the scores of your fans do have a great effect on yours. Believe it or not, if you choose too many of those who have low quality hubs, you're also going to suffer.
I really really recommend you to read how my hubscore went down drastically(opens on another window).

  • Use Tags:
Effective usage of tags would lead you to build your scores and gradually, your traffic. For example, if you are writing a topic on clothing, you may choose tags like impressive clothing, party wear, casuals, seasonal clothings....(i guess you get the idea!!?). For this, you may use google's free keyword tool.
  • Comments from your visitors:
You don't have to worry about the number of comments once you have good informative hubs, but the comments and flag-ups from your visitors play a role in determining your scores.
  • Your contribution: You'll reap what you sow, is true here. Take time to help others often, give your comments and opinion if you get to see a good hub. Answer some questions and ask your doubts. Believe me, this really works. you may want to read my hub on how to get published on hubpages.
  • The Traffic:
The amount of traffic to your hubs will also help you a lot for your hubscore. So, once you practice yourself to make quality hubs with some real information, you won't have to worry about the traffic.

I agree that are not too many ways offered, that allow you to make your hub stand out from others. Maybe we can look forward to some changes by the webmaster in the future.

Good luck to you!

Ps. Lol. Just read your profile and it notes this is your second profile. I was curious as to how you could know so much inside info if you were new. :)
