Favourite Holiday Treats
The combination of seet and salty makes these treats a holiday favourite while spicy cayenne pepper adds a welcome kick. Pack them up in gift bags and present them as hostess gift s for family and friends. They are also delicious served with soup, salad, ice cream or cake for a crunchy addition.
3 (45 mL) Longo's 100% maple syrup 1 (15 mL) granulated sugar 1/2 (2 mL) fine sea salt Pinch each cayenne and cinnamon cups (500 mL) Longo's no salt added natural peacan halves
1. In bowl, mix together maple syrup, sugar, salt, cayenne and cinnamon. Add pecans and stir well to coat evenly.
2. Spread over parchment paper-lined baking sheet and bake in 325 degrees farenheit ( 160 degrees celcius) oven for 8 minutes. Stir pecans to make sure they are not sticking to each other and bake for about 10 minutes or until golden. Let cool completely. Break apart any pecans that are stuck together.
Storage: Store in airtight container for up to 1 week

your receipe is a bit confusing. first, instructions are to bake in oven at 325 for 8 minutes., then stir pecans so they don't stick and bake for 10 minutes. Which is it? 8 or 10 minutes or is it 18 minutes. Receipe sounds great but I don't want to waste time and ingredients until clarification. Thanks very much.
