How to make a website

As part of an ongoing series I am teaching new webmasters how to make a website. The focus of this series is on building traffic, readership, and rankings in the search engines. You can read the entire series so far at how to make a website. This series is designed for webmasters who are new to building websites and want the step by step directions. We decided to do this project because of the lack of substantial information that is available on the Internet. There are many webmaster forums and internet marketing guru sites that tell you what you have to do but never give the actual details of how it is done. Most of the guru sites I have found were written by Internet marketers with the sole intent of selling a product. We have nothing to sell you and will never ask for your money in return for the solid advice and training we are offering.

We are proving to everyone that we know how to walk the walk and not just talk the talk by taking a brand new startup website and growing it from the ground up over the course of one year. We are not trying to compete for a key phrase like "this site is really great come watch us grow it" that none ever searches for but an actual 2 word key phrase that gets 50,000 searches per day. I am sure I don't need to tell you that there is a lot of healthy competition that has been around for a very long time that also competes for that phrase. Any key phrase that gets that many searches is bound to attract a lot of competition from the big boys. Therefore one of two things will happen, we will either prove our worth right before your eyes and you will follow our advice, or we will fall flat on our faces and you will not have lost a dime.

If you are new to internet marketing and want to learn how it's really done then I would encourage you to follow along and see for yourself. I am sure you are asking why we would make the website public so early in the game because we are sure to get added competitors and attract a lot of competition we don't want. All I can say to that is there are a lot of scummy internet marketers and spammers who will surely try to hinder the project by competing just for the fun of it, but most of them don't have an attention span long enough to go after a key phrase that will take as long as this project will take to come to fruition. So maybe someone will try to ruin it but with a persistent effort we will accomplish our goal in the long run, after they have long grown tired of messing in this arena. They will go off to greener pastures and you will see the rewards that consistent effort will bring.
