"How to make beautiful hand made beaded jewelry and make a buck or two"

You can go to Wal Marts super center or any of the beading shops in your area and by all of your supplies. If you want special beads you can buy them separately. You'll need tools as well as beads and findings ect. I'm providing a list of supplies, below and the instructions on how you can make beautiful beaded jewelry too.

Supply list:

1. Basic Jewelry making tools ( get them in a set if possible, it the same on expense). The set comes with needle nose pliers, end cutters, and loop closing pliers.

2.1 spool silver wire, 1 spool gold wire,1 spool strech magic beading coil

3.1 pkg.6-8 mm silver split rings, 6-8mm silver jumper rings,1 pkg.6-8 gold jumper rings, 1 pkg. gold split rings.

4. 3 pkg. gold spacers, 3 pkg. silver spacers

5.1 pkg. silver crimping beads, 1 pkg.gold crimping beads ( crimping beads to complete end of necklace).

6.1 pkg silver earrings wires and post in pkg, 1 pkg gold earrings and posts in pkg.

7.Buy pkgs of color beads, an assortment is better

8.1 pedant, amulet, center pieces.

9. Clasps- barrel clasps, an assortement of other clasp.

10. 2 bead holders ( keeps beads from coming off the end of wire).

11.Use bead tray or just an ordinary large tray that you can put your beads on and work on.

Instructions to start:

Put your beads, spacers, centerpiece, jumper rings, split rings earrings wire kits, clasps and everything needed to make your jewelry set ,on your tray.

Once you get all of your supplies together, you're ready to start making jewelry. measure off the lenght of the wire for your necklace, whether it's hanging down or choker style. Take 1 bead holder and block off one end of wire. I use what ever color of wire I used, for my spacers, jumper rings, split rings and earring set all the same color.

Once you blocked one end of your wire, you can slide you centerpiece or pendant onto your wire and alternate the spacers and beads, until  you get almost to the end: then alternate spacers and bead on the other end of the wire, always make sure you got the same amount of beads and spacers on both side because you want equal balances on each sides.

Once the necklace beading is done, now it's time to complete the ends of the necklace. always leave about a half inch of wire after last spacer so you'll have enough wire to work with; when you complete the ends. after the last spacer, put two crimping beads on the end and take the end of the wire and push through the crimping beads and slide the crimping bead close as possible to the end and take your needle nose plier and catch the end of the wire that move and tighten up the loop. take the cutters and cut off excess wire. do the exact same thing with the other side of the necklace. When you have finished the necklace you should have a necklace with a loop on each end ,now take the split jumper ring and open it where the wire can be slid into jumper ring. do the same for both side of the necklace, now it's time for the clasp. open the jumper ring enough to get the clasp on to the wire manuerver the jumper ring until it fits. do the exact same thing for the other side and you will end up with a finished jewelry product. you will made a beautiful product that you will be proud of.

Instruction for pierced earrings:

Get the beads that you 're going to use to match your necklace, always make sure you have enough beads; to do what you want to do with your set. Take out the earring post or stick and alternate beads and spacers on the post, then take your needle nose pliers and loop the end of the post but leave it open eough to slide the earring wire onto it; then close the loop where the earring wire want come out. do the same with the other earring; then you will have two exact pair of earring to match your perfect necklace, a set you will be proud to show off because you made yourself.

OK - you have officially inspired me. A dear friend and I have been planning to do jewelry making since last winter. Don't know what happened but we have another winter coming and will try again.

I'll share your hub with her!

Now that is a work of art, i worry that these kinds of skills will disappear as young people become addicted to new and electronics. Keep up the good work.

I buy lots of my beads at Walmart too, or I do a few months ago anyway. I now have so many beads I do not need to go for awhile.
