Hot Wild Venison Jerky
Hot Wild Venison Jerky

Hot wild venison jerky recipe

This hot wild venison jerky recipe is very easy to make and tastes as good or better then paying 10 dollars for a bag of store bought jerky.

After going shopping,my wife asked me to buy some store bought jerky, but after looking at the prices,I decided I would make my own.

I have wild game meat from the previous year in the freezer and have to start eating it or I will be over loaded again, since it is hunting season here in a few days.

I thawed out three nice steaks and cut strips from them 1/8 inch thick.

I then place the strips in a bowl.

Add 1/8 cup Worcestershire sauce,or teryaki sauce.

Sprinkle with red peppers.(dried)

Sprinkle with garlic salt.

Sprinkle with ground red pepper spice.

Add 1/8 cup Emeril's roasted vegetable marinade.

Mix with your hands these ingredients.

I have an electric smoker I use to cook all sorts of foods on,so I place three chunks of apple wood to give the meat a little smoke flavor. Then I will fill the water dish full of water for moisture.

Now I will place aluminum foil on the grills and punch holes in it to let the smoke and heat through.

Now lay the strips of jerky so that they don't touch on the foil.

Now you will the cook jerky for 2 to 3 hours, checking to make sure it is done after two hours time.

I cook mine for three hours, then I know it is done.

You will not buy jerky from the store after you try this recipe out.

The jerky has a little smoke flavor plus is hot and tasty.

You can also buy jerky seasoning in a package and make your own jerky, but I prefer my own recipe.

Enjoy your hot wild venison jerky.

Besides vegetarians, who doesn't like jerky? Awesome hub, flread45. You're absolutely right about the astronomical prices stores are charging for jerky! Outrageous! I'm definitely bookmarking this gem!
