An interesting product to use to make jewelry is apoxy glue. The trick to making this one effective is to seal your photo images first with some white glue. Mix the apoxy glue well and let it settle in order to get the bubbles out. Drop it a bit at a time in the center of your image and allow it so slide to the corners with a little guidance with a toothpick. However, don't push it as you want to maintain the integrity of the dome shape that is created by allowing it to settle. Cover it, pop bubbles and allow it to dry for 24 four hours. You may help it along a bit by placing it in an oven at 150 degrees.
Casting only video
Another interesting technique for make jewelry is casting. This technique will take some special training and equipment. You may wish to sign up for a class where they house the equipment needed. You may also often find used equipment if it is not in your budget to purchase new.
Materials needed
Crucible
Propane Tank/oxygen
You may use metal such as pure and clean sterling silver or metal purchased (silver melts easier than gold or bronzes or other metals)
Casting grain
Heavy duty gloves heat resistant against high temperatures such as a blacksmith might use
Tool to transport casting to water
Bucket of water
Toothbrush or other small brush
You will need to have a crucible and prepare it by coating it with borax acid in order that you do not contaminate your casting. Create out of some heavy foil a way to drop your metal into the crucible. You will need an oxygen and settling torch. Propane and oxygen are sufficient. Do not keep the flame too hot for casting. Always heat around the metal rather than directly on it. You do not want to melt the metal. Ensure your metal is melted properly. If it is not melted properly it will not cast properly. If you have melted it, you will end up with little holes in your design.
Stir it up with a graphite pen.
Release and the sterling silver will spin on the centrifical wheel. It will cool as it spins.
Remove the flask and dip it in water. The whiteness will disappear in the water. You will then take an old toothbrush or another small soft brush and clean the ring up. There are a number of steps yet until the ring is clean and ready to wear.
