Multiplying mixed numbers!

Multiplying mixed numbers can be a daunting task for some people. The key is to follow the steps slowly to get the right answer.

1. The first thing you need to do is turn each mixed number into a fraction.

2. To turn a mixed number into a fraction, you multiply the denominator by the whole number and then add the numerator to the previous answer. This is the numerator and you keep the same denominator for your fraction.

3. Once you have turned each mixed number into a fraction, you then multiply the numerators and then the denominators.

4. Simplify, if possible.

5. Here is an example: 3 1/2 * 2 1/3 = 7/2 * 7/3 = 49/6

This answer cannot be simplified, but it can be changed to a mixed number which is 8 1/6.

Multiplying mixed number is not as hard as you might think. The more you work with mixed numbers, the better you will get. Good luck!
