How to overcome laziness and start doing things NOW

Ever heard of the term procrastination? Most probably no. but you might be surprised when you learn the meaning of the term. Now here is what it means, skipping essential activities with the thought that they can be done at a later time. Feels familiar? Join the club as you are not alone. Laziness is one of most common banes associated with humans. Fear and weak desire are the two main ingredients which help in the growth of laziness and procrastination.

This article outlines some of the methods by which laziness can be overcome. The weakest desire is one of the driving factors for this condition. So we need to avoid that. We need to have a clear picture of our desire. When the knowledge that so and so amount of inputs are required to complete the desire then half of the laziness is conquered. Now it is time to invest time on that desire and emulate it as a burning obsession.

The whole of your life should dwell within this desire of yours. Imagine that it is of great importance to you. getting all fired up while thinking of the desire is more than enough to get started. Once the desire has been set then comes the planning part. Sit and think and finally map out a rough plan. While doing this, include maximum hurdles ever faced by you in this venture.

Plan such that even when such hurdles are present you should circumvent them easily. Another fact to be noted is that we all are realistic human beings with limitations. Desires should also be such that it can be achieved by hard work. Mistakes can be made and it is always helpful when you learn from the mistakes being committed. Never ever be afraid of the mistakes as they are considered stepping stones to success.

I never get off the couch. procrastination is a disease i am inflicted with along with hypocondria.

I totally agree. Procrastination and an overwhelming feeling totally comes from a fear...a blockage from being succesful or whatever. The best thing I found is take it one step at a time. Decide to finish one project and then go to the next.
