How to overcome procrastination
64Procrastination
Many people get a feeling of being overwhelmed when many things need done at the same time. They feel that all the small jobs combined are just one huge job. It is like a mountain sized job and they only have the energy for a small task. So in their minds they can not see several small jobs that need done. Just one huge job, which is everything.
Sence there are so many small jobs that need done. They feel that if they procrastinate, that the whole thing will just go away. Which we all know that it will not.
We can usehousework as a example here: What they need to do is start forcing theirself daily to just do one thing. So on day one organize the kitchen cupbards.. after that is done step back and look at your progress. It should make you feel proud of yourself. Your hard work paid off. The next day tell yourself I have to do just one thing. That one thing can be stripping and remaking the bed! Do this everyday for 7 days. Make yourself do one small job each day.
When you get to the second week, the mountain is not as big. But give yourself 1-2 jobs each day this week. Think of a reward for yourself.. like if I get this whole house cleaned I am going to go get a Massage.. You have really been wanting that massage. so you will work harder and faster to get to your goal.

Thank You!
I doubt that anybody's a worse procrastinator than I am. I intend to try this beginning as soon as I get up in the morning. This time it's not procrastination. It's 10:44 and I have to get up at 3:45.
Ok Cobrateacher! Get some rest!
That's me, seeing all the small jobs as a great big gigantic one! I really need to try to see the small jobs for what they are. I've always been such a big procrastinator, and I like the way that you explain it!
I also think that your solution sounds like a good one, and I'm willing to give it a try!
I hope that it is working ofr you!
