How to place a flower order online
55
There are many online companies that you may place an order for a floral delivery. There are two types of delivery options generally available.
-One option is when the flowers or arrangement is shipped to the recipient. Usually this is the more economical choice or the two. This type of arrangement usually consists of a package of flowers and filler, along a vase or container. They come via UPS or Fedex. They require the recipient to place their flowers and filler in the vase, following directions given. Dependent on several factors (occasion or sentiment, the temperament of the recipient, budget) this can be a great option.
-The other option generally is pricier. You place an online order and it is dispatched to a local florist who are registered with a network. This arrangement will be professional arranged by a designer and hand delivered. This option is more viable in situations where the recipient or occasion would warrant either a "mail" delivery or being arranged by the recipient. (i.e. funerals, hospital get well etc..)
Regardless of which route you choose there are some basic guidelines which will assist you placing your order.
-The first is that the order cannot include to much information about the recipient. You must include their first and last name, if a business then the name of the business and their title and department, The hours they will be at the address, the full address along with apt, Ste etc. At least one phone number they can reach the recipient at.
-If for a funeral the recipient must be the deceased name. Please include as much information about services as you have.
-Keep in mind that generally both mail services and delivery services operate between the hours 9:00am to 5:00pm. If the recipient will not be at the address given within that time range, it is likely they will not receive their gift that day.
-Make sure to review all the policies on the website. Best to bookmark or print them for later referral. Most Internet florists have substitution policies, where they will substitute a flower or color dependent upon availability. If you do not want any substitution make sure to note it in the special instructions or comment box on your order.
A few definitions of terms from the above article.
recipient-The person or persons, the flowers/gifts are intended for.
sender -The person who has placed the order.
