Have a heart quit smoking
How DO you quit smoking? There are is a plethora of different methods out there for you to choose.
Hypnosis for example is one way to quit. That is, for those of us who can BE hypnotized. Does it work? I do not see why it would not there are several benefits to being hypnotized it is said to help with a variety of ailments.
They have drugs to help you stop smoking. The catch is you have to take them every day for however long and they cost a mint. They have gum, which tasted terrible.
There is replacement therapy called changing one habit for another. I have seen and heard people use food, drugs, gum, soda, candy, alcohol, self inflicting pain, exercise, cleaning, working, sleeping, sex, etc... As I said, there are so many different ways to substitute. Keep in mind it is not solving the issue just making another habit take its place.
Here is my personal favorite for you macho people COLD TURKEY! One thing is apparent it took you time to get addicted it will take more time to kick the habit. Cutting it out in that style will more than likely give you a heart attack and make you difficult to live with. Do everyone a favor and do not use this method. If you are married this is a sure fire way to get a divorce. It is also a great way to have your children hate you, lose your job, get kicked out of your favorite places, get arrested, lose your girlfriend, get killed (by another macho person), etc... Like an alcoholic or a druggy, YOU HAVE TO DETOX YOUR BODY! So please have a heart and keep yours beating.
So what IS my tip for quitting?
Old-fashioned moderation is the key.
Step 1: take note of how many you smoke a day, a week, a month, etc...
Step 2: find a reason to quit. Your children, family, spouse, health, etc...
Step 3: take out just one smoke from your total above. I recommend weekly first.
Step 4: repeat until you do not smoke.
Step five: LAST RESORT IF THE PRIVOUS STEPS DID NOT WORK!!! Smoke 10 to 20 packs in just one hour. Make yourself sick and I doubt you will be able to stomach another one ever again. This is what parents used to do to their children it is effective.
