How to save money on buying video games

Whether you play video games on the computer, Xbox, ps2, ps3 to purchase new games can be very expensive. Some of the latest games could cost you as much as ninety dollars. Yes, it is great to be one of the first people to try out a new game, but why waste your hard earned money, for the sake of waiting for a couple of weeks.

By waiting, you will be the winner in the end, because the first ones to play these games find all the difficult bugs. When you buy them, they have usually created a patch to fix the problems. In addition, you can not only download these patches free, but also obtain walk throughs, which explain the correct way to proceed with the game. Then there is help or tips on how to find the treasure or how to kill a tough monster. This is especially great for the newcomers to gaming. So be patient and wait for them to iron out the bugs without paying top prices.

There are many different ways to save money when buying video games. Here are of few ideas for you to try:

Downloading the games free

There are many programs that you can download which will enable you to download your games from other gamers once you have loaded the program. Bit torrent and Morpheus are a couple of these: www.bittorrent.com/ www.morpheus.com/ once you download and install the program then it is just a matter of searching what other users are willing to share with you, and downloading the files. Keep in mind that most of the best games can be as big as 6-7gig in size. Therefore, you will need a large hard drive on your computer.

If you are on dial up, the downside is that it could take several weeks to download one of these. With these programs, it is important that you also share your programs and games with others to upload. ALWAYS make sure that your virus protection is up to date before attempting to download anything from the net.

Rentals

You can rent video games for as low as eight dollars. Although this may not be a good option, as some games will take many hours to play and finish the game. There would be nothing worse than having to return it before finishing the game. This may not be a good idea.

Buy on line when on special

This company offers a reliable service to buy from if you really cannot wait to purchase a game, Buy Quick often have games on special. I have personally bought from them myself. http://www.buyquick.com.au

Swap with your friends

This is a great way to obtain free games and find out what the games are like before attempt to play them. If they are good friends, they may even give you the walk throughs for you to use. Do not forget to return that favor though.

Cash Converters and Pawnshops

Before paying any money out for these games, make sure that there is no scratches on the disks. If they do, the disk may not load or play correctly.

Check these out for specials for all types of games, no matter whether looking to play, action, role playing, racing, sport, strategy or puzzle games. You could get them from as little as five dollars each. Remember once you are tired of playing the games you can resell them by advertising the good ones in the free classifieds, eBay, or even at garage sales.

Local discount or retail stores

Often stores like, Harvey Norman, Kmart, BigW, and the two-dollar shops, will have their clearance specials; you could pick up some cheap bargains there.

Be vigilant and patient and you will save loads of cash by waiting for the specials. Remember when handling all disks, to be careful not to damage them, when storing or loading into your computer.

Another great way to save money on games is to use an online trading service. The best one that I have found is Replaygamez.com. They guarantee each trade.
