The number one best way to get people to buy your products online of offline.

Do not sell...Yes you heard right. The method of "not selling" works very well. And it works even better with online marketing. I manage a medium size offline retail gardening store. Most folks do not like to be pushed into purchasing products. I do ask customers if they need help or have questions, but I never push them into buying anything. This includes websites that have nothing but banners or links with hundreds of items for you to buy.

You do need to know your products inside and out. People like free information and the more you give it out the better chance of a sale. Speak and write with confidence and do your best to build a relationship with your customer. This is also a great online selling tip.

Be sure to let your customer speak. Don't babble on about how much you know. Keep it short and to the point let your customer feel that you are a genuine regular person. Smile and listen to your customers needs. Build a rapport with your customer maybe he/she has something to offer you.

"Absolutely free only $19.99"! Do not lie. This is where many salesman fail. If a customer asks a question and you have no answer do not make one up.

Tell them the truth. Tell them "I do not know, but I'll do my best to find the answer". Used car salesman and many affiliate marketers and some guru's are notorious for telling lies.

Dress and look appropriately. Do not wear a $800 suit if you are selling compost soil. Do not wear jeans, tennis shoes or an old t-shirt if you are selling autos, jewelry, or $800 dollar suits! Use common sense. No need to worry about what you are wearing if you are selling online items, however be sure to have a good quality photo of yourself on your website, and or blog. People want to know who they are dealing with.

Follow up on all leads. If you are selling offline ask for phone numbers. Online ask for an email make sure you have an opt in form on your website. Always follow up with phone calls and emails.
