How To Set Goals The Right Way

Setting goals is very important for everyone. The majority of people don't consistently set goals. When a goal is set you are much more likely to work towards that goal and achieve it.

First up, you can achieve any goal so long you focus on achieving it, take action towards it, believe you can do it and feel happy doing it.

Try it yourself, I am sure in the past you have really wanted to do something and let nothing in your way to stop you.

Why do you think the wealthy people out there are wealthy? They set a goal, they consistently focussed on it, believed they could do it, took action towards it and had fun doing it.

If anyone has achieved your goal you can do it to!


6 Steps to follow whiles setting Goals

There is a certain process to follow when setting goals.

1. Be specific

For example if your goal is to make more money, how much money? $1? $20 000? $1000 000? If your goal is to travel, where do you want to travel? For how long? What do you want to do there? If your goal is for a new car, what kind of car? What colour?

2. Timed

Set the time when you will have achieved the goal by, this will motivate you to keep taking action towards it. If you don't put a time on goals usually what happens is people easily procrastinate and never actually take the action towards their goals.

3. Realistic

Ensure it's realistic to you, everyone is different some people think $1000 is realistic others think $1000000 is realistic. Just make sure it is realistic to you.

4. As if now

Write the goal as if now, it is much more powerful to write a goal that way. For example you could start your goal "It is now date and I am/have _______

5. Safe

By you achieving this goal is it safe for you, your family, your surroundings and the environment?

6. Proof

Proof is very important, when will you know you have achieved your goal? What will you be doing? How will you be feeling? Who will you be with?

Here is a goal for a trip to Fiji

It is now future date and I am so calm and relaxed in Fiji sitting next to my partner drinking martinis.

Here is a goal for a new car

It is now future date I am so excited driving my black Chrysler 300c to show my friends.

Here is a goal for $100 000

It is now future date I am so grateful for this $100 000, I am out having dinner to celebrate because now my partner and I completely own our home.

Do you see how I have used emotion in there, included what I will be doing who I'll be with, specific, times, safe and realistic.

Now you have followed the 6 steps prepare to acehive your GOALS!

After considering all these steps write your own goal down and put it somewhere to remind you to focus on it. You could hang it on your mirror; put it on your door, in your kitchen anywhere you will see it.

When you see it think happy thoughts about your goal, this way you are inspired to take action towards it.

If you think unhappy thoughts about it you will have a different action compared with when you think happy thoughts about it.

For example when you're angry someone can say something and sometimes you will just snap back at them because you're in a bad mood. If they said the exact same thing when you're in a happy mood, your action is completely different!

It is important to stay in a happy frame of mind to achieve your goals because this enables you to take the right kind of action towards your goals.
