Ever noticed why your PC is running slower now than the speeds at which it used to work when you had bought it? Well it is the same old PC, right? So we should be getting the same speeds, right? This article will guide you through some of the necessities needed to speed up your PC.

First and the foremost factor is memory. If possible try to incorporate memory of the order of 2GB in current generation PCs. If you can extent the budget a bit, 4GB is always recommended. Modern windows operating systems are known to get heavier with the newer releases. Memory prices have fallen considerably in these days, so you can get the memory stick configurations mentioned at a cheaper price. Upgrade the RAM and you will find an instant boost in the PC speed. Now the second factor to be considered for speeding up the PC is to defragment the hard disk at regular intervals. A fragmented hard disk results in much longer time for it to access the data and this will in turn result in overall slowing down of the PC. Fragmentation is a long process and will result in disk sector errors.

Defragmentation is a long process especially on the FAT32 file system. So it is better to leave the process running overnight. Readers can use the inbuilt defragmentation tool in Windows OSs. Some of the programs leave back trace amount of file data when they are being uninstalled. These trace amounts may accumulate to form large amounts of junk data which will clutter the hard disk and will lead to slowing down of the hard disk. Freeing up this will also boost the speed of the PC. It will also be wise to remove unnecessary services which are running in the background. Registry error fixing utilities are also available.

To instantly cleanup unwanted things and speed up your PC get Registry Cleaner And Optimizer.
