How to start Cabbage Plants from seed?

Hi Gardening Friends

Here is some information on starting Cabbage plants from seed?

First as always you should have clean sterilized seed flats to start your cabbage seeds in. And also as always you should have a soilless mix

to start your cabbage plants in. What you would look for is to buy a soilless mixture that is for germinating seeds. Then you will fill your seed flat half full

with germination mix after that soak your flats and let then drain over night.

Here is some early Cabbage varieties that you should try.

Cabbage is very easy to grow.

Stone Head

Golden Acre

Copenhagen Market Early

Mid Season

Atantis

Platinum Dynasty

Red Cabbage

Royale

Ruby Dynasty

Red acre

Late Cabbage

Flat Head Dutch

Hybrid Savoy Cabbage

Savoy Ace

All of these Cabbage Types are easy to start from seed.

You don't need to start Cabbage all at once you can sow the seed over

many times during the growing season.

What you do is take your seed flat that yopu fill half with germination mix

and you soaked. Take a packet of what kind of Cabbage seeds that you have

to sow and open the packet and start to sow the seeds after you sow the seeds than cover the seeds with about a fourth of a inch in germination mix.

Then go back and mist the entire seed flat. Either put the flat on a bench in the greenhouse or put the flat on a propagating mat and a grow light.

Let me know how you do with growing cabbage from seed?
