Bring a few favorite toys and books, lots of snacks, and a lot of patience. My husband and I took our 9 month old son on an international flight (14 hours long not including layovers) and when he got real fussy, we'd take him to the back of the plane and let him visit with the stewardesses. Everyone was real helpful and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be!
