When you have any sort of sensitivy to a tooth. It usually happens when your chewing or drinking. You'll also notice that when your teeth are exposed to different temperatures you feel sensitivity in a specific area. And when you go outside and air gets in your mouth and you feel a discomfort that is also a sign of some sort of tooth decay.
