How to pamper yourself at home

We all need some "me time"
A woman's life is so very hectic. We feel we must be all things to all people. We have to be "Superwoman". A woman must wear many hats; wife, mother, teacher, cook, maid, chauffer and career woman, just to name a few. We put everyone's needs and wants before our own. However, we need to be sure to make time for ourselves to rest, relax and recharge.
If you don't take time to treat yourself to something special every once in a while, who will? For all the things we do for everyone else, do this one thing for yourself.
Treating yourself to some "me time" doesn't have to be expensive either. Going to a day spa can get very costly very quick, so here are some ways to indulge your senses and soothe your body and soul without ever leaving your home.
Make sure you get some privacy
This isn't as hard as it might sound, or it shouldn't be. Whether you have your "home spa day" once a week or once a month, here are several ideas for making sure you get your peace and quiet and are uninterrupted for a couple of hours. First, pick your special day several weeks in advance and put it on the calendar and make sure everyone in your home is aware of your schedule. If you have small children at home, ask your husband, significant other, close friend, family member or whoever you trust to watch your children for a couple of hours( away from the house). Make a deal with a friend that you'll watch her children so she can have a "home spa day" if she'll do the same for you. Teenage children and spouses 'should' be able to take care of themselves away from the house for several hours without getting into trouble.
Chocolate, Wine and Bubble Baths
Once you get everyone out of the house, you can start pampering yourself. The first thing I like to do is pour myself a glass of wine, but you can have whatever you like and consider a special treat whether that be coffee, hot tea, beer, soda, etc. Next, start yourself a nice hot bubble bath and light some scented candles and place them around your bathroom. Put on some music, something relaxing and easy listening. Then just soak, soak, soak . . . . and soak some more. While you're soaking in your tub, put a cleansing mask on your face and a cool wash cloth across your eyes.
When you finally manage to pull yourself out of the tub, wrap up in a nice soft robe and give yourself a manicure and pedicure. All you really need for this is a set of nail clippers, a file, nail polish remover (to fix those little errors) and your favorite color of nail polish. For something a little fun and different, I'll use neon colors, blue, green or purple for my pedicure.
The last thing I like to do is get another glass of wine, treat myself to a few chocolates ( I love Godiva chocolates but they are expensive, so I'll usually get something like chocolate covered cherries or pecan turtles or even peanut butter cups, just at long as it's chocolate), and then curl up in one of our big recliners, close my eyes and just listen to the music.
This may not sound like much, but I think you'll be very surprised at how just a few hours to yourself and a bubble bath can recharge your batteries.
So don't forget to schedule yourself some "me time" every now and then. You deserve it!!!!
