How to write HTML source code without any HTML Knowledge

The other day I was setting up a free web page, but I needed HTML source code to add a link, but I have no HTML knowledge. I decided that I had two options; my first option was spending weeks learning HTML -or- spend a few minutes using common programs like MS Word and Internet Explorer.

1st Step: Copy and paste the link to a word document and add any additional desired text.

2nd Step: Go to file menu (Word 2003) and click on 'Web Page Preview' and Internet explorer opens with the information from your word document.

3rd Step: Go to the 'Page' menu of your Internet Explorer and click on 'View source'. Viola, everything you typed in word is now in an HTML format.

4th Step: Go to 'Edit' and click 'Select All'; then re-click 'Edit' and 'copy' then paste it where HTML is needed.

But What About More Complex HTML?

Another option is creating a document using office software such as Power Point or OpenOffice and then saving the document as an HTML. When you click the ‘save as’ option, the ‘type of file’ provides many options including HTML. This allows you to create more complex pages including different backgrounds and styles.

This article is short, but I prefer keeping it short for simplicity's sake.
