You can definitely gain some practice at sites like E-how, where you can write a structured how to article and get paid for it. You can also go out there and see how others have written their own how to articles. You may consider writing on topics that people are requesting and that are on popular topics.

Make sure you are writing articles you are very knowledgeable on and that you take a great interest in.

Think about the items that will be needed in order to complete a task and compile that list in your article.

Provide clear and concise instructions on how to accomplish the task and be sure to make it as easy to follow as possible. Read, re-read, and read again before posting it making sure that the instructions make sense.

Most of all have fun with it. There are people out there looking for ways to do something and you have the opportunity to educate someone else on that subject matter.
