A proper diet plan must contain a balanced diet. Make sure that you chuck out all the junk and high-on-calorie food. Instead consume food which is balanced with all kinds of nutritious elements. Raw food (fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, grass-fed meat, eggs etc) is excellently balanced.
A healthy breakfast is a must. According to research conducted by various organizations, a person who misses his breakfast would have a higher probability of accumulating fat and those who are regular with their morning meal would not have trouble flattening their stomach. A proper breakfast helps you provide the right energy in order for your body to carry out the metabolic activities in a healthy way.
Make sure that you do not pig out on your meals. It is better to eat 5-6 small meals in a day than to eat 2-3 heavy meals in a day. Ever since we were in school we have been taught the importance of green vegetables and fruits. Exercising
If you start from scratch, then you need to make sure that you follow the right set of exercises. Do not over work your body in the initial days of your fat shedding stint. An early jog will give great results over a period of time. Similarly do a lot of cardio exercises. Exercises like crunches, sit ups, abs machines etc are good to tone your stomach. As I was watching TV last night, one of those "ab belt" infomercials came on and made me disgusted with their claims. I can't believe it's legal to lie to people the way they do on these infomercials. I can't tell you how many times they claimed that you could "melt off layers of stomach fat" without doing any exercise or changing your diet. According to them, all you have to do is put on this ab belt once a day and you'll flatten your stomach and get perfect 6-pack abs in just weeks.
These are blatant lies, yet I can't imagine how many people daily are falling for these scams and buying their junk belts that don't do anything.
I just want to warn you about those gimmicks that you watch on TV infomercials all the time. Some can see it and some cannot. Those who cannot, is because of this layer of fat that is deposited over their abdomen.
There are many factors that are involved in achieving a six pack flat stomach. But the most important is determination. It will not be easy once you start with your schedule. You must be regular and at times you will be seriously doubtful about the worthiness of getting a flat stomach. Patience and hard work will be called for and you may need to compromise with your routine activities.
Cardio Exercise, resistance training and good eating habits are the three important and fundamental ingredients of flattening your stomach.
Cardio exercise is very important because as mentioned earlier, the layer of fat that is accumulated over your six pack has to be burned. Running or aerobic exercising is the best way to do that. Never fail on your cardio exercise and spent at least 30 minutes on your treadmill 3-4 times a week. You may take a days rest between exercise days. Any other activities like dancing and aerobics will always help. Instead of doing slow cardio, it is better to perform HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) cardio which burns fat faster and boosts the metabolism.
Along with burning the fat, developing your muscles is also important. Make sure that when you do your abdomen exercises you concentrate on your abs as a whole, which involves your upper, lower and oblique abdomen muscles. Various crunches work on upper abdomen, different types of leg raise help with your lower abdomen and side bends develop your oblique muscles.
Abs training alone will not help you to flatten your stomach. Doing simple weight lifting and other resistance exercises will augment the fat burning process overall. These overall body exercises increase your metabolic rate and the body utilizes more energy than usual, burning more fat, even at times when you’re not doing anything. Along with burning the fat also concentrate on other parts of your body. You would not want to look disproportionate once you achieve strong and flat stomach. Tone up your body accordingly.
The third and perhaps the most neglected part is your eating habit. This is where you will need to put all your determination and motivation to flatten your stomach. Sometimes it might seem to be impossible but try to be according to your schedule and do not give up on your diet. Take as much raw food as possible. Raw food contains natural fats and when cooked loses its nutritive value. Carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, avocado, pears, seeds, nuts etc are some examples of good raw food. Lower the calorie value of your body and also limit the carbohydrate intake of your body. Eat food having rich protein value. Avoid Junk foods which also involve soft drinks. Eat low fat foods, decrease the calorie intake, have foods with high protein value and limit carbohydrates are some other tips that can help you with your eating habits. But remember, starving yourself will not help your cause. All kinds of food will have some amount of fat in it which doesn’t mean you stop eating. In fact it is recommended to have 5-6 small meals everyday rather than 3 main course meals. This helps the metabolism of your body and keeps replenishing your body with required vitamins and proteins every now and then and also increases the fitness level of your body.
