I've had several people asking me how I got started with Hub Pages and how much money I have earned. So, here's my story.

How Long Does It Take To Make Money With Adsense?

I joined in December 2006. I was wanting to write advice articles for a local publication to keep people informed on pet issues. I figured I would write the articles, then post the articles on a web site, so I wouldn't lose them. I would have the articles whenever I needed them.

I did a search and checked out several sites. I came up with Hub Pages. Hub Pages offered to let me write my articles and store them on their site at no charge.

The local publication is a mini newspaper so I didn't really need a lot of text to fill my spot. I began to write and post the material to Hub Pages. I wrote all during December.

When I first signed up I did everything Hub Pages told me to do, I got my Ebay, Amazon and Google numbers. I didn't have a clue as to why I was getting these numbers but I figured I was supposed to, for some reason.

I've never, in my life, written anything on the web! The closest I've come to writing on the web is putting my email and name on something I've purchased. Never, have I written an article. As a matter of a fact, I wouldn't call my little "pieces" for my local newspaper an "article".

January rolled around and I was still writing. I was getting ahead of the newspaper so I started linking my pages together. All I would have to do is click on one, then go to the next. I knew what order I wanted them published in my local paper so I set them up that way, with links, etc., on my Hub Pages.

How To Set Up Google Adsense Payments

Google, Ebay, and Amazon wants you to send them a tax information form. In January I remembered this (nearing tax season and all) so I did just that, I sent in my tax form. I continued to write here and there. Mostly, due to cold weather and lack of "want to", I watched movies at home rather than write articles. Google sent me an email, I needed to watch for some sort of message from them.

The message came. It was an email telling me to go to a link they had set up. Once I got to the link they informed me I was on my way to making $100.00.

What?!? I couldn't figure out how I had possibly made $100.00. Oh, what a blessing this was for I needed to cover my publication expenses in my local paper. The site Google sent had someone call my phone. I had to press some buttons and click on the link they had sent to me.

The next thing to happen was I received a notice in the mail with a pin number. This pin number arrived around the first of February. I don't remember what all I had to do with this pin number but, what ever it was, it was easy. It was a cold and icy February. We were without power, water, phone and (OMG) internet, for nearly two weeks.

At the end of February I checked my earnings on Google and realized they were about to send me my first check. They hold the money until you earn $100.00. After you reach $100.00 they finish out the month. My first check from them was just short of $700.00.

That $697.00 check was paid in March. Now, it is April and I am expecting nearly three times that amount. Google provides a daily tally of your earnings so I do know how much I am making on a daily basis.

Hub Pages

The money was a real bonus. But the real plus came from Hub Pages. During my writing I was able to identifiy which articles were good by my hub score. This hub score was really helpful. I could view how well an article was recived by the public just by viewing the hub score. The material in my articles was great material but I didn't always know how to get the information across to my readers. This hub score allowed me to see if the public was understanding the point I was trying to make.

Well, sometimes my pages weren't doing so well. I would scratch my head, stomp my feet, then read the help pages offered at Hub Pages to find what I was doing wrong. So much of the time I would check with the other "Hubbers" to find the answers to my questions. I didn't have to ask the Hubbers any real questions, the quality of their work stood out and I could tell who was good and who was an excellant writer so I would study their pages.

Oh, sometimes I would have to break down and ask a real question. You know what, these same "Hubbers" wanted me to write great material and they would help me! Yeah, I asked the "Hubbers" a time or two and they all told me to contact Hub Pages with my questions and suggestions. Yeah, right! We all know how that goes.

I couldn't have been more wrong. Any questions I've had have been answered with personal attention and a "walk through" if I needed it. These people have even been on the telephone with me! Who, with internet, text messaging, email, etc. talk on the phone?? Hub Pages does!

I'm still writing to inform my local public in the newspaper but now I have a much bigger goal. I want to inform the nearly 1,000,000 people which have, and continue, to visit my pages!
